Mt Rainier National Park

An Icon on the Horizon.

An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous United States.

One of our favorite hikes and a MUST DO was the Skyline Loop. The best views come after the hardest climb. This couldn’t be more true after hiking the Skyline Trail with 9 kids (ages 5-11) and 5 adults (the ages will remain hidden for my own safety!) This trail was the best of the best at Mt Rainier National Park and I highly recommend it!

Skyline Loop is the longest trail in Paradise at 5.5 miles and takes around 5 hours with 1,411 feet of elevation gain. Did you know the Paradise area averages 643” (53.6’) of snow per year, making it one of the snowiest places on earth – literally!

Paradise Area
My favorite hike! Skyline Loop Trail. Paradise is famous for its glorious views and wildflower meadows.

Sunrise Area
At an elevation of 6,400 feet, Sunrise is the highest point that can be reached by vehicle at Mount Rainier National Park. On clear summer days, Sunrise provides breathtaking views of Mount Rainier and Emmons Glacier.
