Badlands National Park
Blaze your own trails.
At Badlands National Park, we found that the best course of adventure is to choose a direction that looks good and start walking! There are only around twenty miles of trails for hiking in the park, so you’re guaranteed to have a great time. Remember to watch out for rattlesnakes!
A few of our favorites
Yellow Mounds Overlook
A great place to get a look at older geology in the form of brightly colored rock layers.
Cliff Shelf Nature Trail
This short loop trail is great for scenic views of the Badlands.
Pinnacles Overlook
The highest elevation in the North Unit is a popular stop on the Loop Road.
The Ranch Store
Right outside the park. Stop and feed the amazing prairie dogs!
