Beaver Creek

First-class skiing

Why do we love Beaver Creek so much? You asked, so here it is! First-class skiing, breathtaking views, perfect combination of modern resort and alpine village, a great collection of shops and restaurants, and at the center of it all, an outdoor ice rink. A family favorite is the famous 3pm Cookie Time where guests are treated to a freshly baked chocolate chip delight – Beaver Creek is hands down our favorite ski resort and one we continue to come back to year after year!

The kids learned to ski at 3 years of age just outside of the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch; Beaver Creek has phenomenal ski instructors and you honestly can’t go wrong! We have a favorite private instructor and I’m happy to pass along his information if requested! He has taken the kids from intermediate to advanced with confidence and skills that will last a lifetime. He is top notch A++

Transportation

Denver is the closest major airport (108 miles). Car rental or shuttle services are available. The drive is fairly simple if the weather is clear, if you are driving during a winter storm then there is a big chance Vail Pass will close and you will have to wait hours-days for the roads to be cleared. Bottom line, keep a close eye on the weather and be prepared. Eagle County Regional Airport is minutes away from Vail and Beaver Creek. Obviously much closer, but please note that if there is a winter storms it is very likely the plane will be unable to land in Eagle and you will be rerouted to Denver, need to rent a car and then drive. This has happened to us on more than one occasions so I prefer the Denver and car rental route! Always best to rent a 4WD drive otherwise you may be slipping and sliding in the snow and ice.
