Central California

Kings Canyon National Park

A visit in the snow.

This was definitely a first for us… snow chains! It took about 45 minutes in the snow to figure out driving with them, but once I got it, then bam! Super easy. It honestly adds a huge level of comfort when driving in a winter storm, especially in a rental car.

A few of our favorites

Sunset over the Canyon
The majority of the park was closed due to inclement weather, but with our chains, we were able to drive another couple of miles and see a gorgeous sunset looking over the Canyon. Again, the snow covered trees were magical!

Bear Mountain Pizza
A huge hit for dinner with the kids. It was a stressful day on the roads, so a drive-through local pizza joint hit the spot. Bonus was the delicious gluten-free pizza!
